The Clarksville Wastewater Department has eleven employees who operate and maintain the facility and collection system.

Wastewater treatment serves a vital need in the protection of society from illness and disease. We take our duty to the people and environment of our community very seriously. We have operators on call 24 hours a day. If you experience a wastewater backup, or other problem, please do not hesitate to contact us.

The wastewater treatment facility is a trickling filter facility with primary and secondary sedimentation, utilizing aerobic digesters to stabilize the residuals before they are disposed. The facility is designed to handle average flows of 5.0 million gallons per day with peak flows of 15 MGD.

The collection system consists of approximately 72 miles of sanitary sewer lines, 35 lift stations, and four sanitary sewer overflows. The collection system is a vital part of the Town's infrastructure for providing safe and efficient transportation of wastewater to the treatment facility.

Due to the age of the facility, and upcoming new regulations, the treatment facility will be undergoing an upgrade over the next couple of years. These upgrades will help us to serve the community even better, for many years to come.

The wastewater billing office processes over 7,000 bills monthly and pays all wastewater and stormwater claims with a staff of 4 employees. All bills are mailed the last week of the month and are due by the 15th of the following month.

To assist with potential extra summer water usage that doesn't enter our sanitary sewer lines, residential customers are provided with a Summer Sprinkling Discount. This discount averages the customer's winter bills (November through April) and that usage will be the maximum charged on bills received during the summer months (June through October) of each year.

We provide a free ACH service that will automatically deduct the monthly charge from a checking or savings account on the 15th of each month. Call our office today to sign up.
